Thrifty Weekend Relaxation

I recently brought ‘The Wonderful Weekend Book’ by Elspeth Thompson on Amazon for a quid and in it I found an array of simple things to do at the weekend that are either free or don’t cost much at all.  It’s a neat little book full of ideas that I’m going to give a go.  I don’t know if I’ll get around to making jams and marmalade, but the idea of having an ideal bath seemed simple enough so I gave it a go on Saturday.  I don’t know about you but I rarely bathe and always shower, so I ran a hot bubble bath and soaked in it for hours and read my book…it was soooo relaxing that I was completely zoned out for hours –  it was lovely.

To keep the spa feeling going…after I got out the bath I used some lovely moisturising cream, some were freebies from a magazine, painted my nails and continued to read my book until I had finished it..It was such a relaxing and simple way to spent the afternoon. I’m partial to a home made frothy chai latte so I made a few of those as well.
A basket full of relaxation goodies….Chai Latte reduced to £0.69   Book brought from charity shop for £1  Maybelline Nail Varnish from pound land…£1  and some luxerious Kenneth Turner Calming Body Lotion from TK Max  rrp £17, but brought for £4.99
I will definitely be doing a lot more of these home spa days, I can’t tell you how relaxed I was after….also ‘The lost art of keeping secrets’ by Eva Rice was a brilliant easy read…a vintage classic set in the 1950’s.
Do you have any thrifty home relaxation tips to share? Comments welcome 🙂
Happy weekend guys!
